Richard Imonikhe FRCOphth, MBBS, MSc, BEng, ARSM
Mr. Richard Imonikhe is the Glaucoma Lead Consultant at University Hospital Southampton and the founder of Lumeria Eye Clinic, where he provides private specialist care.
Richard grew up in Southampton before moving to Imperial College London, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering followed by a postgraduate Master’s degree in Science and Engineering in Medicine. He initially worked at the forefront of medical innovation, specializing in regulatory and safety assessments for novel clinical trials. His passion for medicine led him to medical school, where he developed an early interest in Ophthalmology.
His ophthalmic training took him through several prestigious institutions, including Charing Cross Hospital, Western Eye Hospital, Royal Free Hospital, and Moorfields Eye Hospital, where he completed a glaucoma fellowship.
